Just bought a solid 400 mm for some funtime in the woods..Allthough it´s fully manual ( capable to run AV mode on my pentax ) F stops as biggest @ 5.6...Its is sharp tho...
But..How do you birguys do it?? i have no clue

As you can tell by the detail and colors in these shots that 40D is a keeper.
I'm looking forward to seeing some from your MrkIII.

Thanks and congratulations on the 400mm purchase,
hopefully you'll have a lot of fun with it.
My 500mm was a little too long for these pelicans
but otherwise works great for almost everything else I shoot these days.
