Fungi or Lichen?

It is orange, flattish, and abounds on the soft wooden posts of my (decaying and rotten) gate...

I don't know if it is a fungus or if it is some sort of lichen. The former, I suspect, though which I don't have a scoobies!

    I thought that Lichen was more flat and disc like?
    These look like they are full and have thickness and body.

    Or why don't I just say........ I dunno what they are rolleyes1.gif:D

    They don't look like lichens.
    I vote for fungi, maybe even a slime mold.
