Help with sports portfolio

Hi all - I am still trying to get my act together and choose a portfolio and have narrowed it down some since the last desperate plee for help. I am supposed to meet with an art director for a regional magazine on Thursday and he requested that I bring a portfolio. As I have also been procrastinating on chosing my top ten sports images for a sportsshooter application I figured I would start with the sports. I have- whitewater, surfing, judo, mens and womens college basketball and soccer, womens college volleyball and a boatload of equestrian images (eventing, polo, hunter/jumper) to choose from. I would like to sample each of the disciplines, but not at the expense of including a mediocre image. Any images selected will likely be reprocessed, as most have only seen automated batch processing.

#2 (super fav!), 4, 8, 27(!), 28, 43(!), 44, 52, 67 & 78

it's a good well rounded variety of sports shots - all of which capture the peak moments of action with lots of visible emotion

wish some of my pics were that good

you'll do well - no doubt!

Thank you all so much for the input! I am mostly an event or freelance shooter, so seldom work with editors and usually only receive feedback from people that are emotionally invested in the image (parents/friends/athletes), so outside input is very useful!

These images received multiple comments -

- maybe crop this tighter on the right edge to lose some of the dead space at the top and call it my Mens soccer shot?

I might leaning toward one of the tighter shots for womens soccer... Jocelyn (#10 in white) was one intense competitor on a team full of them - they lost in the final 4, but were otherwise undefeated/untied for the year.

Maybe cropped a little on both edges to lose some of the dead space at the bottom right? I will need to fiddle some with white balance on this as well - the 'shade' side of the gym has such nice maroon casts from the padding on walls.

Thank you as well for all of the kind comments on the photography. I am lucky to have floor/field access at a local DII University (SPU) that has good to great teams and to have been working as a second for an equestrian photographer that was shooting some of the top rated shows in the northwest (and beyond). Having the opportunity to shoot talented athletes from the good vantage points goes a long way in collecting good images - shooting thousands of shots per week with good equipment does not hurt either... I might finally be getting to the point where planning, timing, and composing on the fly are coming in to play too.
