Is His Name Louie??
Hey there Danny........what wonderful eyes your fly has.
I'm suppose to be getting a scorpion this weekend off a friend......we'll see if that eventuates, then I can try out my Macro Lens on a live bug after all
Your are truly a King when it comes to Macro my friend, your work is simply stunning, and I have always admired your wonderful ability to shoot Macro
Thanks for sharing Danny.....take Care...... Skippy (Australia)
Sure glad my natural eyes don't see that much detail on a fly - if so, the fly would be about the same size as a golden retriever. I'd need a bigger flyswatter.
I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

wow danny - gee i really love macros. yours are spectacular. i have the 100mm macro lens i told you about a while back, i was going to experiment with it this winter here, i managed a few shots a few months ago, but since then, nothing.
now that spring is coming, i hope to get some good bugs for you, skippy, and the rest of the macro crowd
May we know what lens you shoot that with? I have a bellows for my OLD film rig, I miss playing with stuff like that.
James.
Thanks folks.
James I came from Canon and Nikon 35mm with bellows and macro lenses and somehow I've ended up with Sony CD-1000 and a Panasonic FZ10. On the front of those I add the old 35mm lenses (non reversed). My favourite is the Canon 100mm which is used in this shot.
The specs for this are : FZ10 @ 1260mm, F/8, 1/60th, ISO 50, IS on, Daylight, added Canon 100mm @ F/5.6, hand held and full frame.
that does it! I'm starting a special fund titled "Help poor Tanna get a better macro lens" fund and you're all invited to chip in. PM me for PayPal acct. info asap! :lol4
congrats on a beautiful picture indeed. You made a fly look gorgeous and well, considering what they do with all that :puke 'ing they do all the time, that's impressive

Speak with sweet words, for you never know when you may have to eat them....
H: Boy that gets right in there!
J: That IS really helps out a lot. Bet it allows you to take ambient light shots like never before.
H: Great pic!
