Anybody have any experience with these?

It seems like a decent case for the price.

I would use it to carry my cam on my motorcycle.

I do have some experience with these. I haven't used them personally to any extent. But I can tell you that PeakBeam Systems uses them for their super expensive flashlights that are sold to militaries around the world.

I used to work for the guy that started this company, so I had a few of these in the rental house. They were great, sturdy, waterproof cases. I guess the hard part for you would be customizing the foam padding on the inside. No big deal though.

    Hope that helps.

I use (and abuse) my two Pelican brand cases.

Before Christmas I saw the case you ask about at Harbor Freight. It is of a similar build quality (seems to be about the same thickness, etc.) so it is probably a good case. Both brands appear to be built like the proverbial brick outhouse. If I needed one I would probably give it a try if after pricing it proved less expensive than Pelicans.

However, for now, I'll stick with the known high quality Pelican cases I get here: http://www.all-pelican-cases-4-less.com/

On edit, I use one Pelican with matching internal camera bag: http://www.all-pelican-cases-4-less.com/detail_pelican_1527p.html All get there in one piece, I just pull the bag and carry. Or you can get "pick-n-pluck foam to customize the interior.

I looked at it, and it seems like a really good case. However, it is not made like a pelican case. It is made from a different type of plastic and I don't know how tough it would be. It might not be as abrasion resistant or crushproof as a pelican is.

So take it for what it's worth. Its a decent case but not really a pelican. It should be a bit tougher than those cheapy aluminum briefcases though.....

A freind of mine picked it up for me for $59 at their Jersey store. He said it comes with the pick-n-pluck foam and seems like a very sturdy case. I'll be checking it out when I get home tonight and I'll share my impressions of it.

Now I guess I'll have to see what I can rig to mount it on the bike. thumb.gif

See the real test is the throw it as hard as you can down your driveway and see if the case doesn't open and your camera still works afterwards. Then you know you have a solid case to use.

Standing on it in yer socks isn't good enough. Put on the A-*'s lol3.gif

Seriously. If you're worried about it opening, just put a strap around it.

That is going to be the way I carry it on the bike anyway. This thing definitely does not look like it would accidentally open.

I got similar case, but in yellow. I like to have something bright color so that it can be easily found in any situation. It is much cheaper than the primium brand.

I used it for my back up camera (an old rebel with a Sigma 18-200) and dump it in the car boot for weeks. As it is airtight, the camera can be kept dry and relatively constant temperature. I took it out from the car boot after a month, the camera still working.

I am not sure whether it is good idea to use for the motorcycle. You may consider to put the case in a padded bag and strap it on the big tightly.
