    Wow, seriously nice eyes!
It looks like you in pretty tight with a widish lens? I'd prefer back a bit with a little longer lens...

The typical rule of thumb I've seen photographers talk about is to back off a bit and use a longer lens. However, one of the most common comments that clients make is how they chose me because I'm not afraid to get up close. I like to get a lot of closeups using my Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens. When I've tried using a longer lens, I can't get the autofocus to lock on using available lighting. I switch back to the 28-135 and bam....it locks on.

I don't use a studio. I shoot right in the peeps living room or kitchen, so I have to be creative with the lighting. I find that the Canon lenses are much more sensitive than the sigmas.

Maybe a little PP work to get rid of the dark areas under her eyes and maybe do a tweak to reduce the red a tad.

I too like the close up shots and to me this is very nicely done.

I like to get in close as well. I do agree that the skin looks a tad red, and another nit would be DOF. Her left(camera right) eye does not appear as sharp as her right eye. Both eyes in focus....especially at this distance would have been awesome.

Great shot. Maybe a little more work on the eyes to really make them pop since they are the first thing you notice and are really nice.

deal.gif This was my immediate reaction as well.

But the color balance is easily adjusted and the photo is beautiful!
