Anyone know where to get poster size prints in the paper material like the regular posters you can buy at a store?
I think it would depend on how many you need, but the best bet is to go to a local print shop. You'd need to change your image to CMYK format for them, but that's usually about it. Problem is that they might have a minimum of over 100 posters.

I looked a little while ago for someone wanting one of my shots as a poster. All the suppliers I found however were not very cheap. It was a price by quantity type system and posters did not become relatively inexspensive until you ordered in the 100's.
1 or 2 posters cost the same as 1 or 2 photos of the same size.
The best bet would be to make nice with a local print shop which may currently print large items on different papers. Look to see who does advertising prints and menus in your area.

I'll ask around. Wal-mart has posters but I ordered one and it was actually photo paper.

I haven't used them but I believe Andy and others have had good results in the past.

I checked this site before and was a little confused with their pricing.
This page looks like great pricing but says they use photo paper
