Another Old Barn and Oak C&C Please

Need help!! When I saw this barn, I thought it would be awesome. But when I brought the pictures up they did not look as exciting as when I was taking them. Maybe it was just a tough week at work. Took these in the morning while waiting for my customer to get out of a meeting. Maybe if it was brighter out with some blue sky behind them they would pop better.
But then again you dont see many barns supporting an old oak.
Thoughts please

Keep taking all the photos you can of this barn, because it's not going to last long. A year, maybe two, it will be a collapsed pile of lumber. I would just watch for good weather, thus good light, and use a tripod, looking for dramatic angles. Inside, quite possibly a wide angle lens and some off camera lighting would produce some cool shots...be careful!

    Great Find.
First of all, I think this barn is a great find and definatley worth revisiting. The last image in the series you posted is my favorite. All of these seem a little overexposed to me and that makes the sky seem really blown out. Again Great find.

You have a great subject to work with that as another posted mentioned, will not last much longer. I would keep at it, take another day and see if you can "get the shot"

It is there, I see it.. just not quite right.

Perhaps another angle? The darker sky might be a factor too. ne_nau.gif

Thank you for the input. I will be back in that area next week maybe I can catch some blue sky, I think that will make quite a difference. Plus not be rushed by time contraints.

I like #3 the best. When looking at #2, I wanted to suggest this angle. It shows alot of the charater, texture of the barn. a lot of the tree branch with the nice contrasting green and minimizes the effect of the not so optimal sky, and the other building in the bg of #2 that draws the eye away.

    Nice colors.

Looks like you made good use of your time when you were waiting.

Last photo is the my favorite thumb.gif

I know what you mean....you take some photos, but when you download them they don't show/speak to you in the way you had visualized the look in your head. Been there....done that.

Post some from your next trip out there...looking forward to seeing them.

Amazing the barn is still standing. Oaks are heavy trees. If you go inside be careful :D

I gotta be completely honest.. my first thought was "Man, I've never seen a tree this lazy". I could be a parent!

PS: Love the shots... be a B&W treatment would work really well with these.

I do like the B&W better. It really shows the passage of time on the wood. Very nice!
