My First Eagle.

Yesterday after dropping my son of at school I took a detour by way of a favorite location for hawk watching on my way to work. Once there I noticed an eagle perched on a fence post he was too far off to get any great shots but he was truly fascinating to me as I've never seen one around here. One of the local hawks flew up to the eagle in a challenging manner and they argued a bit before the hawk flew off. Shortly after the eagle took flght and I was sure I'd seen the last of him.
Much to my surprise later that day on my way home for lunch I spotted him again nearly ten miles from our first encouter. Here he was perched around 80 feet up atop a poplar tree much too high and far off to get any keepers. Not that I didn't try.
After eating lunch I needed to fetch a smoke from my pickup and stopped before opening the door. Something was teling me to grab my camera so I did. As I walked toward my pickup I got a chill down my spine turned round and looked up into the black locust tree above the roofline behind my home. Low and behold there sat the eagle perched in My tree in My yard lookin right down the lens of My camera. It was awesome and I got a couple of keepers after all. :barb247349294-M.jpg247349343-M.jpg:bow

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
