That is Awesome. Much better than the old one. The colors and sky are great. I can't say I've ever seen that building at Dawn, it's usually dark when I pass it. Looks great.
I'm very intrigued by the technique to do this. I'll have to look it up, but would you care to brielfy explain your process for me?

I've never seen this before, so I don't think it looks too cliche' and really like the idea, fwiw. However, while the lighting may be better in the 2nd version, I almost like the first better... I like the greater emphasis on the building, the greener grass. Also, in the 2nd, you've got a much larger planet that is a big, brown blob that doesn't add much, leaving less room for the trees and building that rise from the planet. I think that is one of the main reasons I like the 1st one so much.
Great concept. You know what would be cool...shoot it at night so there would be stars in the sky making it look even more like a planet. (or photoshop a night sky into the background.)
If you put the tower at the bottom, then DoctorIt could stand on it without hurting his head.
Seriously, both of your attempts here are totally different directions, each with great merit. The other one could be a candidate for a bw conversion. I have no problem with the box..
having experimented a bit i've found to get less distortion in the buildings/tree you need to have more ground below the horizon (not too much of course, else the distortion happens in the opposite direction)
I know I'm way late to this, but I had to say this idea, and your execution of it, is just too cool. Very unique. I love the lighting in your new version.

Square Box? I don't see this... care to elaborate??
Are you talking about the little white thing under the tree? If so, then I agree. Once I saw it, it became distracting.

New version looks great. Thanks for posting the technique. I was looking for it in my bookmarks but wasn't able to find it.
