Nice. Too bad they didn't get a chance to review it on the D3 to see how the lens works out to the edges of the full frame. But it definitely looks promising!

So far I love this lens on the D3...much sharper/less distortion that the Nikkor 12-24/4. Just gorgeous at 14mm and high iso...

That looks great Charles. I on the fence between the 14mm 2.8 and this lens. I've rented the 14mm a few times and it's outstanding for indoor architecture. But I wouldn't mind a little more versatility. Did you do any software straightening with this image?

    thanks,
    Trish

I used to have the 14/2.8...noooooooo contest in my mind. The 14-24 is razor sharp corner to corner best I can tell. And that shot is NX straight convert - 14mm, iso3200. It's nothing earth shattering but I was impressed...no straightening needed and the noise is gorgeous.

wow, so you're saying you've experienced the 14-24 to be actually sharper & straighter than the rectilinear 14mm/2.8? nice.

Definitely...I wish I still had the 14 to compare to the 14-24 on the D3 but I sold it a while back...almost as soon as the 14-24 was announced. I iloveyou.gif the D3 + 14-24 and 24-70. Spectacular step forward for Nikonians.
