saving nef file as jpeg.. nikon view wont open

why cant I open up jpegs saved by cs3 ? color option not supported... paint wouldnt open either? any suggestions .. thanks.

Do you mean that Photoshop will not open files saved from Photoshop?

Did you use File/Save for Web ?

or

File/Save As/ ?

What options were selected in the interface presented?

Can simple applications such as web browsers or email clients view the image?

it works if I use file save for web.. but if I just use save image and choose jpeg. it does not work..

Save for web strips most meta data (one can include ICC profile meta data and in ImageReady one could include further metadata, not sure if CS3 has this functionality or not).

So, if the biggest difference between file save as and save for web is meta data - then that may be the issue.

What metadata is in the file? Colour Profile? legacy IPTC or new style XMP file info data?

Have you looked at the Adobe forums to see if others are having similar issues?
