01/26 Hampton Roads Daytime Wonderings

Hey y'all! After struggling with my personal inspiration lately, I decided to make a day of it. I started at the Virginia Beach oceanfront before dawn broke, wondered over to Hampton, and then to Portsmouth after sunset. I split the posts into day and night. There is nothing jaw-dropping spectacular here, just a little journey to get back to the basics of why I love to shoot...

First up was the VB Pier that will soon be torn down in the name of progress :cry. It was 20 degrees and having forgot my gloves, I found out how difficult it is to press the shutter release with frozen fingers :rofl

Oceana Naval Base thru the fence - waiting on Homeland Security.:D

Miss Nina - Hampton (one of the less favorable crack infested areas of town) :rofl

Miss Kathryn - Hampton (Nina's younger sister)

That concludes the daytime wonderings. C&C welcome as usual. On to the night.....

    Great job
Great posts...I envy the material you can go through. Not much in our area to shoot! Good Job, and keep it up!

Thanks for the comp. Its funny because I always "complain" about not having material to shoot. Then I realize there is great stuff in the mundane. :D

Hi Travis, I love the warmed up version of the VB Pier clap.gif
Numbers #2 and #4 are my favourites in this group.

I like water shots with shadows and darker tones such as you have
produced in Image #4 , I like that mirror look you get from the sea.

Nicely done Travis, thanks for sharing thumb.gif .... Skippy :D
