If you are uncertain of what to post, here's a suggestion: Choose a commercial center of your village, town or city. Be it a financial district, "downtown" area or other type of market center.

We will finesse these forums as we go depending on the level of posts and participation. But most importantly let's have fun doing this!

About Kingsburg
Kingsburg is about equal distance from San Francisco and Los Angeles.
The town boasts its Swedish heritage, even calling the town a "Swedish Village"
Our population is just over 11,000.
It is small and quaint, a wonderful place to raise a family.

Here's what is happening every Friday night from May to September on Grand Avenue in Escondido, California which is about 35 miles north of San Diego.

Redwood City redeveloped their downtown with retail, dining,
and movie theaters.

Redwood City is about 25 miles south of San Francisco.

I live in Pasadena, which is pretty much a couple of small cities north of Los Angeles, so I guess metro LA is my home town.
1. Disney Concert Hall on Braodway, downtown.


2. View south towards downtown from Mulhalland Dr. just north of Hollywood.


3. Venice Beach, beach side basketball courts.


4. Dodger's Stadium

5. Mount Hollywood.


6. Pasadena cityhall.


7. Pasadena, twilight.


8. Famous Colorado Bridge at Pasadena.


9. Fireworks, Fourth of July at the Rose Bowl.


10. Pasadena Cityhall.


11. Can't forget Griffith Observatory.

Now there's a construction crane now up at the west end of the Hawthorne Bridge which spoils the shots from the Eastbank. Do you know what is going up there?

The quintessential small town, with all the good and bad that comes with that, Bakersfield is a town of some 350,000 people, but it feels much smaller. Characterized by its primary industries, oil and agriculture, it is infamous for its heavy-handed law-enforcement (come for vacation, leave on probation) and its portrayal in Grapes of Wrath. If you're headed north or south in California, it's a must-stop for pictures along the Kern River or Downtown.

Ahh the streets of Bakersfield, home, even though I lived all over growing up, Bakersfield (where my Grandparents lived) was always home. Now I live in Sacramento though.
