My lovely girlfriend: Both photos done with a D300 and 50mm f/1.8 daylight

50mm f/4.0, 1/4000s, ISO 320. PP done on eyes, some shadows removed. Flash with gold gel fired from left side (TTL).

This is from the firs time out with the camera (and they said it had a steep learning curve :D) no PP whatsoever. Literally this is one of the firs 10 shotsi took with a dslr... well after a year of reading for 4 hours a day :D

50mm f/1.8 no fill flash.

    Beautiful shots. Your girlfriend makes a great model.

    I love the light in the first one, but I would tone down the gold just a little to get a more natural skin tone. to me she is too yellow. Her eyes look awesome.

    The second one is a beutiful natural looking shot.

    I like them both.

    OK, you posted these to brag about having a D300 AND a beautiful girlfriend - not necessarily in that order. rolleyes1.gifI agree with LCD on toning down the gold skin tone a little. I love the candidness of the second shot. I just wish the catchlights were a little more prominent (but not a breaker by any means). Excellent start with the new DSLR.

    Oh, sure, she's smilin' now. But you've only had your DSLR a few days. Give it some time. She'll sour on it...rolleyes1.gif

    Really great shots, thanks for posting.

    Like them both.

    A little too yellow on the 1st and I'm so so on the horizontal instead of vertical.

    Only nit on #2, is that maybe you could clone in some greenery in the white spot between her body and arm, right corner.

    I pretty much agree with everything that's already been mentioned;
    my only add-on would be in for the second photograph. It seems like there's
    a little bit of movement in this photo. It doesn't seem completely sharp to me. Overall I really enjoyed both photographs!

    Hi, Hary

    Great Photos!
    The skin tones look more natural in #2.
