Adorama.... Question about orders

Hey folks,
I have no reason to think otherwise, but I am wondering about Adorama and if it is a safe bet to order from them...
I normally use B+H, however they do not have the lens I want in stock and cannot give me an estimate about when it will be in . Adorama has it in stock according to the web site...but I have never used them before.
Before I drop a grand on something, I like to double check.

I have ordered from then before and I know many people who swear by them. They are actually located near B&H and are very similar.
I would absolutely order from them.

The are a good company.
While it's wise to pay credence to re-seller ratings. You also don't want to split hares about the rating either.
There area ALLOT of bad customers out there that make companies life's miserable when all they did was bend over backwards to accommodate. and mistakes happen. As long as the trend is posative. I'd ignore any small complaints.
as for B&H, ive had two seperate issues with them and they cleared up the problem and did it with a good attitude ...
as for adorama....again i say....they lost my business forever.....
I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

I do most of my ordering from 17st Photo in NYC and have been very happy with their personal service...
I have ordered several items from Adorama since I like navigating in their on-line catalog and they often carry items not available from B&H.
Adorama doesn't seem as responsive to customer emails as 17th Street Photo is. I always get a response back from www.17photo.com on the first working day after I email them. I have recently emailed Adorama to clarify an order several days ago and have not heard from them. The question is not important enough to telephone about but, I would have liked an answer.
The reason I ordered from Adorama is that I use a Giottos MT-8180 Tripod and Adorama carries a full line of Giottos accessories while B&H carries only a few and 17th Street Photo carries none. 17th Street Photo seems to carry mostly main equipment, not the various accessories.
Adorama has been however, extremely conscientious in providing me feedback about the shipment of my order. They provided a routing number for that order without being asked.
By the way, B&H and Adorama prices usually bottom-line the same. Occasionally one will have a cheaper price but, may charge more in shipping. I will usually try both B&H and Adorama for smaller accessories. If both suppliers have the same item, I will check which is less expensive at the bottom line and purchase from them.
Both B&H and Adorama are ver y reputable vendors.

Otherwise they are an ok company. Check resellerratings.com and you'll see that B&H does a lot better in terms of satisfaction rating. I'd personally buy from Beachcamera.com/buydig.com before ordering from them, but Adorama is not a scam artist and they should be ok for the most part.
Good luck.
