Bean-Bag or "The Pod"?

I use a plain old home-made bean-bag as a camera support. It suits me just fine and the price was right (part of a leg cut off from a pair of jeans and a pound of black-eyed peas).
I am wondering if there would be any advantage to using a "bean-bag" support which has a tripod screw attached - like the "The Red Pod" in the attached image.
It seems to me that rather being advantageous; it might even be detrimental since when moving the camera to frame a shot, you would have to move the entire bag with it. Using a plain old bean-bag with the camera resting on top - you just have to shift the camera slightly to reframe a shot.
Does anyone agree or disagree?

In reality, you don't need (and may not want) the screw. A simple bean bag
that's stitched in the middle (so it folds) is a great support for a solid surface.
You can move the camera as you need to and it won't scratch the surface it's
sitting on.
