There hasn't been much to shot around here. The last few days have been very cold with a lot of rain. I did find this bug. Such an ugly bug, but beggers can't be choosy.
Looks like a lobster! Why don't you feed it for a few years and see what you get!

Lovely find and shot- think you call these potato bugs over there also called Jerusalem crickets and similar to mole crickets we get here. Interestingly they are not bugs not in the same family as crickets (but a closely related one) and do not like potatoes . Good name!
Very interesting article in the newest Smithsonian about bar coding bugs. Children may one day go into the field with hardware that will let them identify an abundance of bugs, according to DNA bar codes. What happened to nets and field guides? I like "feed it for a few years and see what you get!"
