I have a question about where is the best place to buy a SanDisk Extreme IV CF 4GB, I have found these so far:

$94.99
http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product_Code=SAD+SDCFX440969&JRSource=PriceGrabber.datafeed.SAD+SDCFX440969
$59.95
http://www.adorama.com/IDSCF4GE4.html#ReviewHeader
$93.35
http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Extreme-CompactFlash-Card-SDCFX4-4096-901/dp/B000HI4VHI

The adorama price makes me suspicious, and I seem to recall some unflattering things about them...

And if the price is good, I would also like to get the card/reader bundle:

$84.95
http://www.adorama.com/IDSCF4GE4R.html
$144.95
http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Extreme-FireWire-Reader-Bundle/dp/B000HW5WRW

Again, the adorama price seems suspicious to me. Why is the card/reader bundle lower on adorama than just the card anywhere else?

Adorama itself is pretty reliable, I have ordered from them several times in the past.

What might be questionable is the rebate from Sandisk, which brings the price down so much. Some people report problems with past rebates, take a look here: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1032&message=26440189

    Just a guess
Here's my guess. Sandisk is getting ready to SERIOUSLY drop the price on their cards. If we can hold off a bit, we might not have to deal with the rebate bs at all. Just a guess, but I've seen that happen in the past, following big rebates.

I HATE rebates, but I do need a couple of 4 gig cards, and I do like Sandisk. What to do . . what to do . . ?

I just bought an 8 gig CF from Adorama for $100 free shipping. Hopefully the $40 rebate will come through without a hitch. Although they offer a Visa gift card or an Adorama gift cheque (which is 110% of the rebate= $44 for me), but I wish I could just get a check to deposit.
If the rebates work like they should, you should definitly check out Adorama and snatch up a couple of cards before the rebate runs out.
Shipping is fast too. Like, 1-2 days. 3 days max.

Well, I can wait. I'm in no dire straits for a new card right now. Any idea when they normally make price drops?

We have a thread devoted solely to memory card deals in the flea market, go have a look at what our users have spotted lately:

I wonder if we'd have better luck if we applied for the "Adorama Gift Cheque" instead of the Visa Gift Card.
I'm afraid after reading the aforementioned thread about sandisk rebates, that I will not be getting mine. Rebate companies suck.:splat

Sweet! Thanks for the links thumb.gif

Does anybody know of a list showing the largest card that a camera type can handle? I have a Digital Rebel Xti, and I don't know if I could get a 16GB card or not...

    $76.99!!

You can use any card size thats on the market today with that camera thumb.gif

I just recieved a SanDisk Extreme IV 4GB from Amazon. The neat thing is
that it comes with SanDisk RescuePro Software CD (Win and MAC) that
lets you recover files and images from your CF card in case you accidentaly
delete something on it. Can't go wrong with SanDisk or Amazon.

Even though I only use Trandscend cards I personally would not put all my images on one cards I would suggest the 4GB for $25:
