I came across their website through a friend. They are based out of New Hampshire. Anyone try them? I tried to googe thenm and came up with nothing. Nothing. That got me a bit worried.

you probably googled "glass and gear" and then google dropped the "and" doing a search for "glass gear." Not quite the same thing. Doing a search for "glassandgear" give LOTS of hits (including their website). You'll notice the top hit is actually the dgrin thread about them.

Yeah, searching for us on Google can lead to some interesting results depending on how you word the search.

Thanks for that! It could very well explain the difference.

    To answer your second question:

I have tried them and they are great! Jason there is really on top of things and willing to help out anyway he can to make sure the customer is happy. I plan to rent from them again, probably placing my order tomorrow.

Very prompt service and great communication!

They get my approval for sure!

    Steven

P.S. No I'm not an employee with them (would be a fun job though)

Yes, Jason is very accommodating. I live in Boston, so he offered to discount the shipping a bit as his location is not even a hour away in NH. I feel bad I bugged him about getting a UV filter to borrow for the lens, but he said he will give it a shot.

BTW, I rented the Nikon 70-200mm VR lens. I use the 18-200VR lens on my D50 now, so we shall see how great it is!
