Will be getting a D300 next week (coming from a D50) and I would like to get two 4GB CF cards. Ultimately I know the D300 buffer is most important part of all of this and I don't want to spend too much for two cards. Read: no Sandisk Ducati cards. I would like to spend about $120 or so for two cards. Or maybe I need to spend a bit more?? Are the UDMA CF cards worth the time and could I afford them? I am only considering Sandisk Extreme series or Lexar cards...

Let me know what fast card you got for your D300.

There are some of us that shoot Transcend (me) and I also have Lexar.....Like them both, but like the Transcend better as it was a less expensive card and I have had no problems with them.....inthis forum there is a post of great deals on the transcend 16gb cf card for under 80 usd.....I posted it for those whose cameras will recognize that size of card.....however I am stuck with nothing larger than 8gb rite now.......so check out new egg and eCOST.........AT NEW EGG you can get 3 8gb 133x cf transcend cards for 120 plus shipping as of tonight the 8gb were 39.99 each..........
