... I am slowly but surely coming to an understanding that the quality of light is WAY more important than the quality of the camera body (luckily I have passed the milestone of understanding the importance of the glass over the body a couple years ago:-)
Quality of light
I will say that there is truth to both quality of light and the result is what you are after.
Owning both pieces, I will say that the light quality does vary between the pieces. Same lights - 600ws Profoto's. The light from the Profoto Softbox has a bit of temperature difference. If money were no object all my modifiers would be Profoto.
As to speed rings, they fit all softboxes. I have Chimera and Photoflex Speedrings.
