Last attempt Feb 2, 2008: We couldn't find the verification meta tag.

Once you verify that you're the site owner, we can provide you with comprehensive statistics and error information about the pages in your site. If you're unable to verify, you can still use the webmaster tools, submit Sitemaps, and see detailed information about those Sitemaps as well as basic information about your site. [?]

We offer two methods of verification. You can either upload an HTML file with a name we specify, or you can add a meta tag to your site's index file. Choose your preferred method below. [?]

Copy the meta tag listed below and paste it in your site's home page in the first <head> section of the page, before the first <body> section. [?] Show me an example

I've added the meta tag in the home page of http://www.edwardwallacephotography.com/.

    unverified
So I read your tips on findability etc. I don't see any way of using google's webmater tools for verification. I tried loading the meta tag into my homepage but no dice, and im not sure where i could upload the HTML file for verification either. What gives? is it possible?ne_nau.gif

    Hi there

It's possible that Andy misread your request. I think you are just trying to find the place to put the verification code from Google - the line that looks like
    ****** name="verify-v1" content="xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx=" >

You just go to Control panel
    Then the Customize tab
Then the Advanced Customization - Edit
Then paste that code into the 'Head Tag' box

I think that should do it

    Good luck
