Pine Grosebeak in the snow

I took a trip up to northern MN with a friend in search of some birds we just don't get to see down in the central part of the state. We found a boreal forrest to which these birds thrive and were initially unhappy with the sheet of clouds and light snow, but it turned out that the light snowfall made for a decent addition to the images we captured.

Beautiful shot Mike. The snow definitely adds to the shot. I love winter images like this of birds + berries + snow. clap.gif

Wow! The detail on the bird is astounding. Overall, the composition and other technical thingies are really good - the background and bokeh add a lot, the berries really balance the bird, etc. but the details on the bird itself are really really great!!!

Well Done, and thanks for sharing
