How to prevent right click save of my pictures?

When looking at a photo in my galleries, I can right click and "save picture as".

Besides adding a watermark (which I would like to avoid if possible) is there a way to prevent this?

Thanks!

    In the gallery customization, set protected = yes. This will disable the right click from within SmugMug. But - be aware that if you link to your photos from another site, the right click protection is not enabled from that other site. Does it matter? Maybe not, since it's likely you won't be linking to large versions of your photos.

    If you want to customize the right click protection message, add this (after customizing the text to whatever you'd like) to your javascript:
    rightClickWarning = "All photos are property of <your name>. All rights reserved. Unauthorized use is prohibited.";
    Be aware that if a photo can be displayed in a browser it can be stolen. It's just the nature of the web. Set protected = yes, don't allow access to your originals, and decide whether you want to take the extra step and apply a watermark. I was heading down the watermarking path when I realized that a watermark along the edge could be cropped off and that I don't like viewing photos with watermarks splashed across the image - so I stopped. That said, if I was a pro taking people pictures, I probably would apply a watermark to those photos.

    Thanks Denise! <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/clap.gif" border="0" alt="" >

    Done!

    Is there a way to set the right click protection to default or do I need to set this with every new gallery I put up? (one less step to remember to do)

    I could not set the right click protection message. Where do I go to enter the message? (I looked in the control panel but could not find anywhere to enter it in)

    Thanks again!

    The message goes in the javascript section of your control panel (right after the css box, you should see a box titled "javascript"). It applies to all of your galleries, so it only gets entered once.

    As far as setting the right click protection, it needs to be done each time you create a gallery. You might want to set up quick settings, see http://www.smugmug.com/help/picture-storage. You can select your quick settings from a drop-down menu when you create a new gallery.
