My First Decent BIF - Crane?

Well, here it is. My first decent bird in flight photo. This is my second time out trying to shoot birds in flight. The first time I've ever seen a crane (right?) in Vegas. Got this shot out at the Vegas Wash/Wetlands this evening. It was great because I was the only one out there (weather was horrible). I even saw a couple hawks but was so excited that I didn't get any good shots of the hawks.

It turned out decent, of course not great - but I am happy with it for my second try. It's a major crop to have the bird fill the whole frame, I was hoping to get closer but he took off as soon as he saw me.

Just wanted to share because I was so excited about getting a decent shot.

Nice, although a little more exposure /brightness would probably help.

    Thanks for the comments :D

I hope to get something even Better next time - hoping for a nice sharp hawk photo.

Interesting - the photo looked better on my Mac. It looks way too dark on my pc screen, I think I need to lower the brightness on the mac to get better color matching.

Very nice for your first bif! thumb.gif I wouldn't crop so tight. You want to leave some room for him to fly into.
