RSS/Atom feed problems with certain characters

Hi Smugmug,

I have this feed:
http://www.streetsofboston.com/hack/feed.mg?Type=userkeyword&NickName=flyingdutchie&Data=portfolio&format=rss200

and on IE7 it does not work. It complains about illegal characters in the text-content.

In my feed, i think it is this problem. It produces content containing this string:
"Let's hop out and see who's there."
(11½ Thatcher Street, Boston MA)"

The "½" character seems to be the issue.

(BTW: it functions fine on FireFox)

Hi Anton,

Thanks for reporting this. I just came across this today as well. It looks like IE chokes on these while Firefox simply returns them as ?-marks. I've validated and bugged it. Happens on my site quite often as well since I have lots of German umlauts and Spanish accent characters.

I apologize for the inconvenience and I hope that we'll fix this soon, but I don't know how complicated the matter is.

It seems to have been fixed.
I can see my pics from the feed again.

Yes, I've been working on it with David. Instead of the question mark in Firefox, you should now also see the proper 1/2 character.
