I have found a new "winter" obsession--abstracts.

    like the second one!

    the first one has lots of potential but somehow i keep looking for something to fix my eye on, it misses something sharp ne_nau.gif

    nice compositions though!

    Hi there tlee, you know I really really really do not like abstracts.
    BUT! there are abstracts and there are abstracts :D

    These two shots have the prettiest colours in them, and I like them thumb.gif

    Here's my set up:

    Very dark room, black back drop, one light: floor level and directed upwards.
    I used 1/4s and 1/5s , and f 8, most of the time. The "subject" was a silk lei.
    I held it pretty close to the light source, and then swung it side to side, twirled , etc...

    Here's a shot where you can kind of see the lei:
