The reason for that title is that when I look at the pic I am reminded of the manga style, so there is for me an association. The pic also incorporates, very mildly, the interplay of smoothness, texture, and spaciness which appears in manga style.

I think fellow Dgrinner 'Jeroen' could give you some tips on how to incorporate a graphic style into photographs. his website http://www.jeroencoert.nl/ has some great examples of how corel painter can create a graphic from a photograph. check out the black cat from 2006 for example.
I was aiming at a kind of "fusion", nothing too literal - "cover" as in music disc cover, but also as in "my version of". So I pushed the pic (actually the pic itself suggested it - it came out of a spectacularly botched custom WB!) in the direction where it began to pick up a hint of comix. To go further might weaken the little unsteadiness which it has, and which I like, as it oscillates away from straight portrait. (?)
