I recently got a panasonic lx1 and here's my first macro attempt with it. Shot in raw, processed in adobe camera raw. No major adjustments other than minor cropping and sliding the noise reduction sliders up.
This was at the new england aquarium, through sorta dirty glass and of course a little bit of water.
Advice and such quite welcome

What a beautiful shot
It's a Stone Fish right?
I know that Aquarium Glass is not easy to shoot through.
Well Done.... very cool shot! .. Skippy

Have no idea what its like shooting through glass into water but the detail you have captured is great.
