Hi,

I am new to SmugMug. I shoot professionally for many NGOs. One of my clients has asked me to set up a image bank that all their offices throughout the world can access and download images for advertisements, brochures etc.. So I need a site that can show of galleries of images, keyword, maybe group regionally. I like the ability to rank the images. One new idea someone had was the ability to geotag their images from all around the globe. They want it private and secure. The site needs to have the ability to be accessed by several offices. Can SmugMug offer this?

    Hi Matt :)

In reading your requirements, I do believe we can offer them. You might want to take a look at our price page, which will explain the three levels of accounts we offer, their prices, and features:

    http://www.smugmug.com/price/

We do have a ranking system available:

    http://www.smugmug.com/help/search-online-photo-album

We also offer the ability to geotag photos and show them on a map:

    http://www.smugmug.com/help/maps

All of our accounts give you the option of making your galleries public, private, or password protected.

    http://www.smugmug.com/help/private-albums

As for privacy and security, see our help page on SmugIslands here:

    http://www.smugmug.com/help/private-search-island

If you have further questions, be sure and let us know.

Sounds like the Smug has all you want and a Power level is all you need.

The site could be locked down with a site wide password.
You could create categories for each region or office, Power level required for this.
You could create sub-categories for each type of photo.
    Originals could be downloaded.
Add keywords to photos for easy selection.
Rank photos with the popular photo listing.
Geotag photos. View by gallery or homepage. Problem might be there is a
150 limit from any gallery or homepage. Work-around is save the geo file
from each gallery and import all the klm files to GoogleEarth. No limit then.
Probably missing a few other things.

Is there a page that tells me how to do this? I looked through the Map help and did not find anything.

If you click available feeds at the bottom of a page and then click
GoogleEarth, a save box will come up for the Google Earth KML file.
Save this to your GoogleEarth profile folder. Then in GoogleEarth open the
file and it will be added to your places sidebar.

Thanks. Very cool!! I think I will tell them to buy a pro membership to SmugMug. But just before I do this, I have one last (?) question. When guest long on and upload images, do they wait for some sort of approval? go to a default gallery? or do you have some control over it?

If they are using our Guest password feature, they simply log on and upload to any of your galleries.

    http://www.smugmug.com/help/guest-passwords

When you upload images yourself to your account, they are uploaded and appear almost instantly. You create galleries and upload directly to those galleries.

If I'm missing the point of your question, please let me know!

No, you got the point. What I want to do is keep everyone in this company from loading images in any gallery. I want them to load to a processing bin or folder where I can edit and cull out the bad images and place them where I think they should go. But I still want them to be able to view all the galleries. Make since?

By the way, I am now only getting the map feature on my home page not on the gallery page? Why would that happen?

The "map this" button will only show in galleries that have photos tagged.

There is an email feature where anyone can send photos, no need to log in. They upload to a
gallery named "email" where you could cull and move to an appropriate gallery.

The email folder! What a great idea! Well done SmugMug. I assume I can read up on this in some help menu. About Geotagging, I geo coded several shots. I had it working on my personal trial. But once I set up the companies site, I can only get it working on the home page.
