If I search on "Infrared" most likely I'm looking for photos tagged "infrared", however the first hit that takes up a good degree of screen real estate is information about a user who is named "Infrared".

Could user search could be moved to a seperate form or should be below gallery/photo search?

In your question, I assume you're talking about the global search on smugmug.com? If you submit a blank search, it'll bring you to this page, from which you can do an explicit search for either people, galleries, or photos.

Or - after perfoming a search, use the "Jump to:" links that are at the top of the results.

Right, I think the global search default should be for photos or galleries first, preferably photos.
