The Red Head Pays a visit..

Had a ton of birds in my yard today...the largest and loudest was this guy..

Shot with tele and Sony 717...(hurry up birthday...I want my new camera!)

    A great shot of a Pileated Woodpecker. They are very loud, but usually pretty shy and secretive... NICE!!!

    Great shot Trish!

    Did you know thats a female? I wouldn't have either, but had a pair in my yard so was able to figure out the differences.

    I have another shot of a pileated, taken in VT. I was surprised when she showed up and was not shy at all! Such a pretty bird!
