Well today started with a Magpie BIF (yawn)

Then progressed in butt shots of a Woodpecker

Then I found a makeshift home for a couple of Great Horned Owls.

Eeek! Look at those talons I hope Momma does not mind my presence too much.

Here's Pappa I think or maybe Momma:dunno

Dam branch well I slowly move to my left and... I got me a BIF(Bird IN Flight)

Okay time to leave them alone I could here their hatchlings mewing in the nest.

I shall return another day and hopefully be again blessed by these Owls

I so envy you "who" find owls. And I thought they were only out at night.

I saw the photos of your KPOTD: Looked great up there.

Congratulations...............uh, you could send me some owls, too.

    WOW, and WOW again!

The owl pics are really great! I have some reallt close to our house - I've seen and heard them, just not been able to get close or find their hang out.

And thats not any woody, either, but a sap sucker - maybe yellow bellied... I have only ever seen them once!

    Great day!
    Congrats on the KPOTD.

And did you see the message to you in wide angle?

those are some awesome shots. I was just reading the owl story in NG from 2 months ago (damn I'm behind on those), and was thinking how cool it would be to see them in the wild - but the article dashed all my hopes, about how hard it is, and how much they dislike humans, etc... And here's shakey with a handful of great shots!!! thumb.gif

But, um, I'm still looking for the hooters???
    Since 2004...

Thanks for looking and commenting everyone. It was a lucky find.
And I hope to find some more interesting species there this summer.

As for getting a picture of the baby owls ... not untill they leave the nest I do not want to disturb the nest so I will stay a respectable distance away.

and check the nature wildlife there are some of great grey owls that a couple of photographers found and shot a lot of.
