Equipment to work as a reporter

I am considering to shoot a social event - bullfighting, marriage, whatever - and I want to print the pictures on the spot, or some minutes after after the shot is taken.

I found the Canon Shelphy CP 730 to be interesting for the issue but may be too familiar for a hard work, if you know what I mean.

Actualy I was looking for a complete equipment which I could easily lay on a table, load the fresh pictures, print and sell them as fast as possible.

This Canon equipment looked good to me because it prints in a minute and the photos are good. Are they ? I have never seen one of them ...:wink

I called Sony Portugal and they said they have the UPX-C100/200 on the professional area, which is supposed to be very good.

Any suggestions, please ? :D
Thank you:bow

I have an Olympus dyesub printer, and have used a Canon selphi dyesub. I think for quality, durable, accurate on the spot prints dyesub is definitely the way to go. Unfortunately I don't know much about which ones are good. However, here is a link for ones you could get from B&H:

I have 2 Olympus P440 dye-sub printers, and one Olympus P400 dye-sub printer, and they do a great job for on-site printing.

I've seen some good output from ink-jets also, but I don't have any info about specific models for you.

    Good luck...

Swinton and Randy, thank you for the replies.bowdown.gif

Today I called Canon, Sony and Epson.

Epson doesnt have this way to print, I was told.

Canon, I can't see any pictures from their equipment because they haven't a show room.

Sony yes, Sony has a showroom in Lisbon where I will go some day to have a look.

However, they told me to call someone else and I am waiting for a written reply.

Anyhow, the guy called me back some 1/2 hour ago and told me he had a pretty good solution with Sony equipment.

I could very well work with my Canon equipment and with Sony.

Equipment is terribly expensive in Portugal.
I have to buy it in the European Community as it's price is far better with the same warranty as bought here.

Today, my 580 EXII just arrived from Germany. The box is still closed.
I paid much less with no problems at all.

    Thank you again:Dthumb.gif
