hello there.

I'm new to smugmug... I haven't even paid yet, still trying it out :dunno

but I do have one request: I'm brazilian, and as a portuguese language speaker, I've been tagging my stuff in portuguese. like, pictures taken in france I tag as 'frança'. the problem is smugmug doesn't display non-english language characters... so it displays like 'frana', even though it's stored right. so I have these options: I either enter 'franca' (which sounds like franka and is odd), or I can enter everything in english. none of these please me too much, so how likely would it be for smugmug to accept and display properly non-english characters? I'm sure the spanish community would love to be able to tag "españa" rather than "espaa" or "spain"...

Welcome to smugmug and dgrin. I think the main reason it's not supported is because smugmug uses these as part of the url in some places and URLs must be a limited character set, but I'll let others confirm that. There are a few older threads that discuss this topic.
