What a lovely place. Stumbled upon it by accident whilst looking for a place to stop to make a phone call. I waited a while for the sun to drop down and was very fortunate with the sky.

Taken as 5 bracketed shots on a 1Dmk3 with a Sigma 10-20 at 15mm (vignettes from 10-14mm) at f16, then merged using layers & masks in Photoshop.

C&C welcome as I'm a bit new to this merging stuff.

Cheers!

    Tobers, lovely!

I like the composition a lot. I think your exposure blending is quite good. The only areas that look iffy to me are the left and right horizon edges because they look unusually bright and misty. It could have been the way it was, but it looks like dramatically different areas of bright and dark right below where the ground meets the sky.

Great work! I think what keep the merging looking real is the fact that you retained good shadows in the rocks. thumb.gif

Thanks for that - I'll take another look at the blend there and see if I can darken it down a tad.
