Bacolaodiat was envisioned to be a major trade, tourism and cultural event for the City of Bacolod (Philippines) showcasing the merging of Filipino and Chinese cultures. In terms of colors, sound and taste, one will experience the ambiance of China in all its fascination, the food, historic sites, cultural parade, ethnic dances, firework show, night markets to display arts, crafts and souvenirs

We have a huge population of Chinese here in Australia too,
and I saw a glimpse of the celebrations in Melbourne last night on the News
    earlier today.

It is the Year of the Rat.
Such a colourful celebration, with lots of fireworks as well.

    I love the Dragon Dance.

Nice series Nicled, thanks for sharing thumb.gif ... Skippy :D

    Howdy Nicled,

Wonderful series, and I love the colors and the sense of the Action.

    Very neat compostitions and angles.

I was wondering how you acheived the image of the Latern Dance. I really like the look and feel of the image. Did you drag the shutter?
    Take care,

i just handheld and shot away. Didn't have time (and space) for a tripod. I later had to adjust ISO to 3200 during the latter part of the program. Setting was in Aperture priority, F8. Shutter was 8 seconds i think.
