Elusive Junko's

Junko's are not supposed to overwinter here. We have a nice little flock, and they must be freezing in weather they are not supposed to endure. Junko's are ground feeders, so they hang out under the platform feeder, or beside my broken feeder, and pick up what other birds discard. So, I've been spreading food on the ground for them because it is really, really cold. You'd think they would be appreciative enough to pose for me! No such luck! Best I've gotten so far:

Good captures Ann but what's all that white stuff. It brings back some vague memories from my distant past. :cavig

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
