On the CANAL

Canal boats are a very popular vacation in the UK. Used a Canon 1Ds Mk1 and USM 28-105 for these.

    Are those types (the design) quite common? I have seen several other dgrinners with photos of them over the past few years. We have quite a few boats here as well, with all the water and all :D, but I've yet to see one of those types. Do people live on them as well? or are they mainly for recreational use?

    They are mainly for recreational use but there are many people who choose to live on them year round. The canals were originally for industrial use as were the boats of this type, used to carry freight and coal to the industrial heartlands. thumb.gif Thanks for looking and your comments.

    Which canal and where please? I grew up - for my teenage years at least - living by the 'straight mile'

    Northwich in Cheshire (Shropshire Union Canal I think).:D
