Was able to spend 1 hour in the swamp today before my daughter's soccer match. Went there at 7am when they open. This place was beautiful. We can't wait to go back when we have more time.

    Beautiful photos!

My wife(gf at the time) stopped there on our cross country trip winter of 97. I think we spent about 3 hours walking that boardwalk - just amazing sites everywhere!!

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Nice set! Like the portrait of the red-shouldered hawk.

Glenn, thanks for looking. I was hoping you would see that pic. Amazing to me that a wild hawk flew onto a branch about 10 yards away from us and sat there for 10 minutes!

    That place was really amazing.

Glad to hear it, because my SO is taking me to Naples this weekend, and that is now on the list of places to see! clap.gif

Fun place to visit and spend the day. Be sure to speak to one of the audobon volunteers who wander around the boardwalk.

Unfortunately, it has been very dry in that area. The wildlife is somewhat limited and the birds are concentrated around the lettuce lakes.

I only had 1 hour before my daughter had a soccer match. Kind of a tease for us, but we can't wait to go back.

Beautiful pics Mitch. I really like the first one. The way it is hunkered down looks quite cool thumb.gif

Yes, it was quite dry. We saw several deer, a cottonmouth, and a lot of great birds. The volunteers had spotting scopes set up by the time we got there, where they knew of birds nesting in the area. So we got to see a barred owl we otherwise never would have noticed. Great place, when you can spend some time to walk the rest of the boardwalk clap.gif
