A friend posted me a picture she had taken (see link). She took quite a lot of pictures and if you look closely you can see a line going right across the picture from side to side half way down the picture. This has come out on all her picutres (the camera is a small point and shoot) any suggestions what is the cause??

If it happens on all images then I would suspect a defective imager. It could also be a type of RF interference. Either way, it is probably in the camera and not easily correctable.

I notice that the image appears to have been processed so, while it is unlikely, I would also suggest looking at an image that has not been processed to rule out a possible software error (which I haven't seen in over a decade, so not likely.)

OK time to change the story, sorry it was badly explained to me and I was in a hurry ne_nau.gif

The camera in question is a canon 30 EOS SLR (Film type) with the picture transferred to CD disc once developed.

    Sorry..............

I have suggested that she goes back to the shop that done the developing and transfer to disc and have a word with them. If that throws no light on the subject then maybe get the camera serviced
