this is a grey headed flying fox flying out to feed at night-australias largest bat ,we have thousands in melbourne -they are hard to shoot, this is a crop,i am still working on my technique.focussing is a real issue as they move quickly and its dark-i want to get one closer and wider with more light but there is a fair amount of luck involved...it is a little underexposed but I dont mind as it looks more like a drewaing than a photograph17872125-M.jpg

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I just did a google search on "grey headed flying fox".

    A wingspan of one meter???

Whoa . . . bigger than I would have guessed.

I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.
