Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for a photo album designer. I've used Blurb's software but I've found their software's newest version to be buggy; it crashes too many times!

Anyways, I'm looking for something else and came across Gary Fong's Digital Album Designer software. Has anyone used this? How is the program?

I've Googled for reviews, but haven't found any that were helpful.

I've used it, and find it useful. You'll need to have knowledge of Photoshop because his software is just an addition to it. Really it's just action buttons. For example...quick clicks to ad borders, b&w conversion, sepia, bring image to front. Although I don't really like his b&w conversion. I would say that it's helpful in a design process, but it's not the be all, end all.

If you need some help with design...I just happen to be in the biz. I'm started a new business where I will be doing the design layouts and album ordering for professional photographers. I currently use Vision Art Books, Laguna Albums, & Kiss Wedding Books.

    I hope this was helpful,

This looks pretty cool. It works on a Mac with CS3, correct? Will it work with any page size and layout?

Yep works on the PC & the Mac with either CS2 or CS3. He has action buttons to autodrop photo's into a square, vertical or 8x10 layout. You can alway tweek the size after that.

Cool. Unfortunately I think they have a problem with their site. I just entered a help-ticket with them. I ordered, got the download, but the only thing that downloaded was an "adredirect.html" file, which is not an Action file. :(

Hope you're wrong! I bought it already. They do have tutorials specifically for the Mac platform.

Well, it does work on my Mac (Leopard with CS3). So that is good! So far I'm pretty happy with it. I'm sure that a Photoshop guru could have replicated all these actions, but a guru I'm not, so it was worth the money. Now I can resize individual images after I've plopped them down, rotate individual layers, and do all sorts of other things that I knew were possible but had no idea how to do.
