So many birds . . . so little time . . .

Actually I was feeling left out of the club. I'm noticing that DGrin seems to be the bird photographer's mecca. The "holy grail" of bird photo sharing???

And me with not a single bird shot. But wait, I remember from last summer . . . my only picture of birds. Here it is and now I'm evidently in "the club". But I really don't have any shots of egrets!

I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

This mom (& dad) dove have returned to my deck each spring for the past three years. They are already back this year (even with the snow and sleet lately - probably wish they had delayed their return trip).

These baby birds were about ready to fly away last year when something got them. I'm in semi-rural Pennsylvania. The predator could've been a cat, fox, raccoon, or hawk (or ??). All we saw were residual feathers on the deck. The mom & dad birds stuck around for a couple of days and then they were gone for the year.

The circle of life and all that stuff . . .
