The poppies are not quite in full bloom yet, but getting there. Amazing year for wildflowers in California.

very cool I wish I was there to see and shoot for myself. Although these do far more justice than my meager attempt would produce.

Thanks all, for your kind comments.

I didn't know that, jwear. Very interesting. I was taking these shots between about 3 pm and 5 pm. It was also a very windy, kind of chilly day.

Shots three and four just blow me away. What was the date of these? I think I need to go back this weekend. Were these with the D-Rebel? Hand-held or tripod?

    regards,

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Gary,

The date was 3-20-05...it's definately a good time to go...although I think they will probably peak in another week or so, as long as we don't have a lot of hot weather before then.

All shots were with a D-Rebel. Most were hand-held, but a few I used a monopod. For the wide landscape shots I used f/14 or so at 200 ISO.
