Some Birds from Lake Chapala, Mexico
I had the good fortune to escape the cold in Alberta a few weeks ago, and went to Ajijic on Lake Chapala (South of Guadalajara). I also did a day trip around the Lake and stopped at the fishing village of Petatan on the South East Corner of the Lake where there were lots of egrets and white pelicans.
The first two photos are by Ajijic
These next ones are from Petatan
In the background is a fleet of pelicans who were heading over to see if we were going to feed them some fish.
I was just mostly amazed by the sheer numbers of birds.
The last two photos are taken in Chapala (a town on the North side of the lake close to Ajijic)
I hope you enjoy them

Bet you were glad to be away from here during the deepfreeze, Angela! Would you recommend that part of Mexico? I know nothing about the area around there.
Nice shots. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, it's a very nice area. My brother and sister-in-law live in the area. There is a large Canadian, American, and European ex-pat community in the area; and, the Mexicans are very friendly folks. I have gone done there for a few weeks for the last three winters. There is lots to do and see; and, the weather is really mild (so, not to hot or too cold). It pretty much averaged out at lows of 12C and daytime highs of 23C. I have been in the process of uploading piccies to my smugmug site, and hope to upload some to the travel forum within the next week or so (if you care to have a lookie loo).

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
