Too slow

Some 20 hours ago I tried to move many files (many means about 150/200) from one gallery to another.

The site became " ill " and stopped completely.
I thought that the command was done and I had to wait.

Today I had a look and the majority of the files were still in the gallery.

I did the move again but this time slowly. Some 10 pictures at the time.

Now, some pictures are still in the original gallery and others are already moved.

But the site became terribly slow...
Sometimes it just stops.

I think I have not done anything wrong...:dunno
Next time, I will move the photos slowly.

Anything you can do ?
Both galleries are passworded.

EDIT - When I try to move the photos the site returns the target gallery.
I hope I made myself understand.:D

    Hi Antonio :)

Sometimes, when you move many, many photos, it can take awhile for the move to complete. It may even appear to time out on you. But the move is still taking place in the background. So, waiting for awhile and then checking is the best thing to do when that happens.

When you moved them 10 at a time, did they move okay? Fairly quickly? Have you managed to get them all moved now or do you still have some left? Are you trying to move all photos from one gallery to another or just most of them?

This is how it should be behave. Once the move has taken place, you will end up in the target gallery.

    Thank you Barb. :D

I moved 10 with difficulty before I posted the 1.st thread here, they took some time and the window just timed out.

Now, I still have some pictures left to move but I am going to let it (whatever it is) rest. :D

Tomorrow, in some 12 hours I'll try again to move more pictures. Slowly.

I am moving some photos from one gallery to another, that's what I am doing.

Some pictures will be left in the 1.st gallery.

The slide show in the beginning is still very, very slow.:cry

Indeed I did not made myself understand, or I did not understand you.

I know that when we move photos from one galery to another we end up in the second one. OK.

But I did this operation hours after the first time I moved some photos. And the result was .

No. Let me explain another way:
When we want to move photos we just point at that "thing" and we choose Move.
Then we can see all the photos in the origin/first/fountain gallery.

And here I was seeing the target/second instead of the fountain/first gallery, instead.

Did I make myself clear now ? mwink.gif

But Barb please do not worry now and let's wait for the night - here I mean - and get a good sleep. Tomorrow - or in some hours - the computers will be fresh after sleeping and everything will be fine. I hope. rolleyes1.gif

    Good morning Antonio :)

The site is zipping right along for me. Has anything changed on your end to see such a drop in speed? Have you added any firewall or security software, browser add-ons, etc., to your computer?

Can you run a speed test for us? Go here:
    http://smugmug.speedtest.net
We are the San Jose pyramid. Please let us know what the results are.

I see that you are using the old slideshow hack. You should replace that with the new flash slideshow:

    http://dgrin.smugmug.com/gallery/3624147_9odkB

With some of the changes we've made lately, the old slideshow won't work properly. Upgrade to the new, very cool, flash slideshow :) If you have any problems, just holler, but you just need to remove the old code and add the new (easier), and you'll be all set :)

    Hi Antonio,

This is actually the speedtest to a server close to you. In order to see the speed of your conntection to us, you would need to run the test for the yellow San Jose pyramid at the east coast of the USA.

    All the best from Germany,
