Does this Tokina autofocus on the D40? I like to get glass that my wife can use on her D40 as well as my D200.

I am sorry, I don't think it will. Tokina uses the screw drive.

So as a general rule only Sigma with their HSM lenses and Nikons AF-S lenses will autofocus on the D40? Tokina and Tamron lenses are out of the question in regards to AF on the D40?
