Is there a way to get rid of SmugMug's PROOF watermark?

It's annoying as it's the default watermark, and there are 2 things that bug me about it:

1) If I select the images in a gallery and apply a watermark without using the watermark dropdown, I get the SmugMug default. I uploaded my own watermark, I want *it* to be the default :-)

2) When using the SmugMug Macuploader, there is a checkbox for watermark. Guess what this uses? Yep :huh So it's a fairly useless checkbox, given I must manually change all the watermarks to mine after the fact, by going to the web site and recalling to use the *right* watermark (see 1. above).

I dug for about 30 minutes to find if there was a way to set mine as the default, but there's no note of a way to do that.

You can set a default watermark for each gallery under the 'security & privacy' settings for the galllery. I haven't found a way to do it globally, but shall watch the thread in case someone knows.

    Hi Andy,

I went through all that. Been there done that got the t-shirt (and camera strap :-)

The problem is, when I use the SmugMug MacUploader it uses PROOF (that is to say, the SmugMug default watermark), rather than my shiny watermark:

I'd rather this was my default watermark than PROOF, if you know what I mean :-)

If you have added that as one of your watermarks, go under gallery
customization and make sure it's selected instead of default BEFORE
uploading, YOUR WM will be applied on upload then. That's one problem with
creating a new gallery and immediately uploading. Another problem is the
gallery is public and your upload might take many hours.

So I'd suggest to always go to the gallery customize page first before
uploading to a new gallery and set what you want. Who knows, your photos
could be indexed on a world wide search and you haven't set to
    unlisted/private yet, ugh.

I'd think it'd be more logical to be able to set globally these types of things. I too am irritated by the SM PROOF that goes on the photos, it'd be nice to just be able to specify WHICH of the available watermarks is the global default. (I actually do use the SM watermark for... you guessed it.. proofs.)

Perhaps the guy who makes the uploader should code the uploader to be able to select which watermark you can use when you check the little box when configuring a new gallery.
